From a stunning lakeshore location, we offer a wide range of RYA Sailing Courses. We also provide Activities for Children, Corporate Team Building, Group Activities and Stag & Hen Activity Days. In addition, we also offer Boat Hire, Launching Facilities and Boat Storage.
Whether you are new to water sports or a seasoned sailor, our friendly experienced team will be able to get you out on the water. There is no better way to enjoy the stunning views on arguably England’s most beautiful lake!
Our hire fleet includes double and single kayaks, Canadian Canoes, and a choice of sailing dinghies. We also have our extremely popular gaff-rigged Traditional Boats. These beautiful boats have tan sails and are gaff rigged, so they are more sedate to sail and perfect for those wanting a more traditional sailing experience.
We are now closed for winter and will reopen on the 15th March 2025.
We do monitor emails during our closed period, so please contact us if you have an enquiry about our RYA courses, sailing taster sessions or summer activities.
Boat Hire

Taster Sessions
Our Taster Sessions are run by experienced and friendly Instructors, who will pitch the session at your level. Booking essential.
RYA Sailing Tuition
Our sheltered bay provides the perfect setting for learning how to sail, whether you are a total beginner or looking to improve your skills.
For The Kids
We run an exciting program of activities and events for children, from the RYA Youth Scheme through to our popular multi-activity Kids Weeks.
Group Activties
Our friendly team can host anything from a small family celebration, to a large company looking for something unique and challenging.
Launching Facilities
We pride ourselves on not being a yacht club – we are a group of like-minded people who love sailing and love Ullswater.
Opening Hours
The Centre is open from the 15th of March onwards on a 5-day week basis, open Thursday – Monday and closed Tuesday & Wednesday.
We will be open all week for the Whit Week holiday 26th – 30th May and we will be open 7 days a week throughout all of July and August.
