Stage 1 – An introduction to the parts of the boat and the basic principles of how to get a boat sailing.

Stage 2 – Improved sailing skills on all points of sail. Tacking, gybing, ropework and collision avoidance.

Stage 3 – Improved rigging, sailing theory, launching and recovery. Building confidence in a range of sailing techniques on all points of sail and capsize recovery.

Stage 4 – Transferring pre-learnt skills, techniques and manoeuvres to sail crewed boats, enhance rigging, launching, recovery and practical skills to recover a man overboard.

The RYA Youth Scheme is suitable for children aged 8-15.  Most children aged 16+ would benefit more from the adult RYA Sailing Courses.

You will be out on the water having fun, learning something new and making new friends. These popular activity weeks are run by our friendly and professional RYA Qualified Instructors, therefore the emphasis is on sailing, but may also include rafting, canoeing + kayaking.

All with plenty of variety, fun and games!

Parents/guardians: Drop your kids off with us knowing that they will be having fun learning confidence on the water with an emphasis on safety and common sense. Our day starts at 10:00am and finishes at 4:30pm. 

Kids Weeks are suitable for children aged 8+. No previous experience required.

This epic full days adventure, which are run by our friendly and professional RYA Sailing Instructors, will see you sailing (aboard our Traditional ‘Swallow’ type boats), learning semaphore, hunting down treasure and an epic battle against Captain Flint – complete with a cannon and walking the plank!

For ages 6+ (kids only event – parents/guardians are to remain landlubbers!). No previous experience required.
